South African Airways (SAA) launched its inaugural flights between Washington and Accra, Ghana, on Aug. 3.

With the introduction of this new flight, SAA is providing the only nonstop flight between Washington and Ghana. The airline is operating flights to Accra four days a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Flights depart in Washington at 5:40 p.m. and arrive in Accra the following day at 7:40 a.m.; connecting flights to Johannesburg depart at 8:40 a.m. Return flights leave Accra on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 10:45 p.m. and arrive in Washington the following day at 6:05 a.m. Flights are operated with Airbus A340-600 aircraft, featuring 42 full-flat 180-degree beds in Premium Business Class and 275 seats in Economy Class.
