Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas is renaming its 12,000-seat sports and entertainment venue the Michelob Ultra Arena.

MGM Resorts International's multiyear naming rights agreement with Anheuser-Busch also includes some bars and lounges. The beverage company will have the opportunity to sponsor special events at the property.

The venue formerly known as the Mandalay Bay Events Center has been the home of the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces since 2018. Mark Davis, owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, purchased the team in January.

It also has hosted college basketball, concerts, championship boxing, Ultimate Fighting Championship events, the Latin Grammys, the NHL Awards, the Latin Billboard Awards and the Miss USA pageant.

The venue opened in 1999 along with the rest of the resort. Major renovations in 2019 included upgrades to the arena's seating, concourse, signage, food and beverage options, locker rooms, technology and lighting system.

"Las Vegas is one of the world's most exciting sports and entertainment destinations, and Mandalay Bay is regularly in the midst of all of that excitement," said Matt Davis, head of U.S. Sports Marketing for Anheuser-Busch. "As the world returns to traveling and enjoying entertainment, we look forward to all of the events to come at the Michelob Ultra Arena."
