Out with Picasso, in with Karsh. Following the exhibit of portraits by the Spanish master painter comes another portrait show inside the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art.
“Yousuf Karsh: Icons of the 20th Century,” opening March 18 and running through Sept. 5, will include 60 photographs by the Armenian-Canadian artist famous for his lighting skills and his images of public figures like Mother Teresa, Muhammad Ali and Martin Luther King.

The exhibit is the gallery’s first photography show in almost a decade and will feature Karsh’s portraits of Grace Kelly, Winston Churchill and, fittingly, Pablo Picasso, among others.
Tarissa Tiberti, executive director of Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, said via press release that the show will “offer visitors the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the world’s most famous figures,” as well as showcasing the talents of an photographer who sought to capture the personality of his subjects through careful studio lighting.
“We are excited to share such incredible works with our guests. Karsh had his own distinct style that reached beyond the subject’s face,” Tiberti said.
“Yusuf Karsh: Icons of the 20th Century” opens March 18 with tickets $16 for adults; $14 for Nevada residents, students, teachers, military and seniors; and free for children 12 and younger. The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with free docent tours at 2 p.m. For more information, click here.
