Esquire magazine lauds CityCenter restaurants

The restaurants Julian Serrano and Sage inside Aria at CityCenter earned recognition in the November issue of Esquire.

Julian Serrano, named for its pioneering Spanish chef, was cited as one of the top new restaurants in the U.S.

The magazine wrote: "The menu, with more than 60 items not counting dessert, is way too long, but if Julian Serrano wanted to show off his astonishing range and creativity, he found his chance. The recession appears to have afforded him the opportunity to offer excellent food to more people at lower prices, and he's betting that a casual, eat-what-how-and-when-you-want kind of restaurant is the way the city's scene has to go."

Esquire named Sage, run by Chef Shawn McClain, as one of 11 new restaurants "not to miss." Sage combines farm-to-table produce, artisanal meats and sustainable seafood with an emphasis on simple, clean flavors and seasonal ingredients.
