The second of three hotels slated to open this year at the entrance to Key West opened May 20.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites will have 133 rooms, including 17 suites. Other amenities will include a pool, a pool bar and a fitness center. Guests will receive complimentary breakfast. Bookings for June 1 and later are available now, with rates starting at $149.

The Fairfield, which is on the Key West side of the short bridge that takes motorists onto the island, will be part of the Keys Collection, operated by Highgate Hotels. Also to be included in the collection are the Gates Hotel, which opened its first of two buildings in April, and a Hilton Garden Inn, which is slated for a fall opening. Cumulatively, the Keys Collection will have 519 rooms. The lodges replace a Days Inn, a Lexington, a Comfort Inn and a Quality Inn, all of which closed in 2013 and 2014.

The Gates, where 100 rooms are already operational, touts itself as a chic locale with a minimalist design. The hotel seeks to create an atmosphere that evokes the colorful history and independent spirit of the Southernmost City. The Gates is pet friendly and has an on-site, Caribbean-inspired food truck as a well as a pool, bar and lounge. Rooms start at $167 per night.

The second Gates building, with an additional 145 rooms, is scheduled for a September opening. Once fully operational, the hotel will be the second largest on Key West, behind only Casa Marina, an iconic Waldorf Astoria property.

A previous version of this article said the hotel would open by June 1; the actual opening date was May 20.
