The Water Taxi of Fort Lauderdale has begun paying commissions to agents who book clients online.

"We have invested quite a bit in our online program, and based on the number of inquiries that we receive from travel agents across the country, we believe that this program will be a huge success,” company principal Mike McGurl said in a statement.

Agents can earn $3 for each discount ticket booked, $5 for a standard ticket and $10 for a three-day pass.

Providing daylong, hop-on/hop-off access to 18 stops along the Intracoastal Waterway between Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood, the water taxi serves as both a transit option and a tourist attraction. It passes by Fort Lauderdale's Las Olas Riverfront, the Port Everglades cruise port and numerous $10 million-plus homes of celebrities and captains of industry.

Under Water Taxi of Florida's new travel agent resellers program, agents can enter a passcode at www.watertaxi.com then purchase and deliver tickets for clients. Commission checks will be paid monthly.
