An underground tunnel connecting the Las Vegas Convention Center Loop and Resorts World has opened, with drivers in Tesla electric vehicles shuttling guests nonstop between destinations in just minutes.
The Resorts World Las Vegas passenger station is the first of 55 planned stops that will form the 29-mile Vegas Loop throughout the resort corridor from Harry Reid Airport (formerly McCarran) north to downtown. Elon Musk's Boring Co. uses a massive, high-tech boring machine to drill the tunnels just wide enough for the Teslas without disrupting the surface.
"Today marks a monumental moment not only for our resort but for Las Vegas," said Scott Sibella, president of Resorts World Las Vegas. "Our passenger station will make a visit to our resort from the Las Vegas Convention Center easier than ever and eventually connect us to key destinations throughout the city."
Hours for the passenger station will vary based upon the convention center's events.
