Lucky Dragon, the Asian lifestyle-focused casino project from the Las Vegas Economic Impact Regional Center, is now fully funded and scheduled for completion in late 2016, the center said. Financial guarantees from the center's CEO, Andrew Fonfa, and president, William Weidner, have enabled the north Strip resort to move forward with construction.

“As the first ground-up casino development in Las Vegas in six years, the opening of Lucky Dragon Hotel & Casino will mean more options for Las Vegas visitors and locals alike,” Lucky Dragon COO David Jacoby said. “We are filling a niche in Las Vegas, and we’re thrilled to bring such a carefully curated array of Asian-focused gaming options, restaurants and amenities to Las Vegas.”

The resort’s Asian focus will manifest in a variety of ways. Signage will be in Chinese first and English second, and the property’s staff will be multilingual. The casino floor will emphasize games popular with Asian players, such as baccarat, pai gow, sic bo and fan-tan. The interior design has been developed with a feng shui master, and the casino floor will center around a pagoda-shaped bar and glass dragon sculpture suspended from the ceiling.

Restaurants focusing on authentic Asian cuisine will offer Chinese fine dining, dim sum and a night market experience. Lucky Dragon will also feature an indoor-outdoor tea garden, where guests can sit down to a traditional Chinese tea ceremony and sip on varietals sourced from farms throughout Asia.

The hotel and casino will include a small spa focused on reflexology and 204 total hotel rooms, including 23 suites and a 1,300-square-foot penthouse with a formal dining area and panoramic views of the Strip.

Located on Sahara Avenue just west of Las Vegas Boulevard, Lucky Dragon is expected to begin accepting bookings this summer.
