Faena,
an ultrahigh-end hotel in the Mid-Beach section of Miami Beach, is scheduled to
open Dec. 21.
The
oceanfront hotel’s 169 rooms and suites are furnished with deco decor, which,
according to hotel literature, is designed to evoke Miami’s golden age of the
1950s, when Frank Sinatra and his pals ruled the beach. Rooms, which start at
$539 online during the fall off-season, feature such amenities as marble
bathrooms, handcrafted desks and private butler service.

Among
the other Faena amenities are a beachfront pool, the 22,000-square-foot Tierra
Santa Healing House spa, two upscale restaurants and the Saxony Theater, an
opulent, two-level showcase that will feature nightly entertainment and
Broadway-style shows.
Faena
(www.faena.com/miami-beach/) is part of Mid-Beach’s new, masterplanned Faena
District, which runs from 32nd Street to 35th Street.
Developed by Argentine Alan Faena, the district will also feature an arts
center, a marina, a park, a bazaar and a luxury residential tower.
The
Faena hotel occupies what was previously the Saxony Hotel building.
