McCarran traffic drops 4.7% in May

The number of passengers at Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport dropped 4.7% in May, marking the fourth month this year that passenger numbers have declined.

US Airways, which experienced the greatest decline, was down 22.8%, followed by United (-3.9%) and Delta (-3.3%).

American Airlines led the major airlines showing increased numbers, rising by 5.9%, followed by Southwest (2.6%).

McCarran's total passenger count for the first five months of 2008 is down 2.4% from last year.
