Paging chefs David Chang and Christina Tosi: please report to Las
Vegas.
The founders of beloved New York-based brands Momofuku and Milk
Bar, respectively, are finally heading west, and instead of landing in San
Francisco or L.A., they’re doing the unthinkable and setting up shop in Las
Vegas.

Known for his steaming bowls of ramen, inventive fine dining and
outspoken personality, Chang will be opening the latest representation of his
Momofuku empire at the Cosmopolitan, though whether it will take the form of
his Noodle Bar ramen shop, Ko tasting menu temple or something different
altogether has yet to be announced. Joining him is Tosi, the creator and chef
of the affiliated Milk Bar bakery, famous for its compost cookies (with pretzels, potato chips,
coffee, oats, butterscotch and chocolate chips) and gooey crack
pie.
The news, which was announced in late February, is bigger than
the average restaurant opening. Not just because it further solidifies Las
Vegas’ reputation as a top-notch dining town, but because it means one of
today’s most innovative chefs and food-world characters has recognized the city
as a culinary destination and decided that he wants to be there, too.
We can’t wait to taste what Chang is cooking.
