The Spa at Red Rock has had some work done. More than a nip here and a tuck there, over the past year, the spa has undergone a multimillion-dollar makeover, a refresh that has touched virtually every aspect of the 25,000-square-foot space, from the design to the products, services and overall philosophy.
Part of Red Rock Resort's larger $40 million 10th anniversary update, the spa was "due for a cosmetic reassessment," said Lori Nelson, vice president of corporate communications for Red Rock parent company Station Casinos. The Fertitta family, owners of Station, "really challenged the team to say, 'Maybe we need to look at the programming. What can we do different that hasn't been done in the market?'"
The answer debuted in June: a partnership with boutique spa management group Trilogy Spa Holdings and the integration of their Well & Being program. The program which was adapted to meet Red Rock's specific needs emphasizes custom wellness experiences and a holistic approach that includes fitness, nutrition and alternative medicine alongside spa staples like facial treatments and massages.
"We really wanted to open up that menu and show our guest that there's so much more that they can experience," Nelson said. "This is a great safe space. If you're going to experiment and go outside your comfort zone, this is the place to try it."
It might be an acupuncture or cupping session, a vertical yoga class in which students hang from the walls on straps or a full physical assessment inside the Bod Pod. The egg-like machine measures body composition, including body fat and lean mass, then a coach can interpret the results and offer nutrition coaching in the demo kitchen or exercise suggestions in the fitness studio.
It's about using the analytics to fine-tune a personalized program, said spa Managing Director Stephanie Doud. "So when they come to do a workout, it's not a workout on a treadmill; it's a workout with a purpose."
For guests who want a vacation glow, the Spa at Red Rock by Well & Being has partnered with celebrity dermatologist Dr. Harold Lancer to offer his treatments and products outside of his Beverly Hills office for the first time.
"The vitamins in these products give you that nice soft, dewy skin that everyone's looking for," Doud said. Lancer's client list includes names like Kim Kardashian and Beyonce.
The updated facility is also taking full advantage of its off-Strip location just a few minutes' drive from Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area with an outdoor fitness program that includes guided hiking, biking and rock climbing. You can take a yoga class surrounded by terra cotta-hued stone then relax with a Thai massage or a body wrap.
However you combine the spa's treatments and classes, the goal is to leave feeling beautiful, cared for and healthierinside and out.
