Rocky Mountaineer is launching a new route in the southwest in 2021, the Rockies to the Red Rocks, that will take passengers on a two-day journey between Denver and Moab, Utah, overnighting in Glenwood Springs, Colo.
The company is working with local suppliers to create custom vacation packages inclusive of tours, activities and stays in Denver and Moab.
The route will launch with a preview season of 40 departures over 10 weeks from Aug. 15 to Oct. 23. It joins Rocky Mountaineer's three other routes that run in western Canada. Pricing starts from $1,250 plus tax per person.
"The coronavirus pandemic has had a devastating impact on the travel industry, and there is continued uncertainty of when tourism will recover," Steve Sammut, president and CEO of Rocky Mountaineer, said in a statement. "However, we believe American travelers, and those from around the world, will be eager to explore this region by rail with us, and we look forward to welcoming them in 2021 and beyond."
