After being removed to accommodate a massive grandstand for the inaugural Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix, shade trees will again appear in front of the Fountains of Bellagio, a spokesman for MGM Resorts International said.

Teardown of the Bellagio Fountain Club, which included the winner's stage, began immediately after the event. The company anticipates Bellagio's traditional frontage, including pedestrian access, will be restored by New Year's Eve. But not all the trees will come back.

"During the construction process of Bellagio Fountain Club, we conducted a comprehensive evaluation of this area and determined that reducing the number of trees will increase mobility and safety for pedestrians, providing the best possible experience for guests and the surrounding environment," the spokesman said.

Many trees moved out of the area were placed in nursery boxes and will return. Other trees were turned into wood chips and used in local parks.
