Hollywood has introduced demand-based pricing in advance of the April 7 opening
of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
On the Universal
Studios Hollywood website under the “special offers” section, there is now an option to
save up to $20 on single-day tickets. The full price for
a ticket when bought at the entrance is $95.
Although one of
Universal’s main competitors, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, has hinted that it
is looking into implementing a tiered pricing system aimed at reducing
crowds during the most popular days for visiting the parks, Universal is the
first to actually do it.
The Wizarding World
attraction debuted to much fanfare at Universal Orlando in June 2010, and a similar level
of enthusiasm is expected for the April opening of the West Coast edition. The signature attraction will be the 3D motion
simulator ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.
