Las Vegas’ McCarran Airport was the most mentioned U.S. airport on online media between Dec. 15 and Jan. 1, according to a report by Zignal Labs, a media tracking company.
Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta, the U.S. airport with the highest volume of passengers in the country, ranked fourth.
McCarran, the ninth busiest airport in U.S., did not rank in the top five airports for either mentions of delays or positive sentiments. However, the study noted that Southwest was the most complained-about airline in conjunction with McCarran.
The holiday season may be a particularly busy travel time in general, but December was the month with the lowest visitor volume in both 2012 and 2013 in Las Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. (Official numbers have not yet been released for 2014.)
