For 2015, Abercrombie & Kent has added cruises along the Ganges, Amazon and Mekong rivers to its portfolio of Luxury Small Group Journeys, and will be using Haimark Ltd.’s new luxury river fleet to sail those rivers.

“We’ve seen the appeal of river cruising expand well beyond Europe, which led us to incorporate the same experience in more exotic destinations on our luxury journeys,” said Abercrombie & Kent USA President Phil Otterson.

Each of the new itineraries includes six or seven nights aboard new Haimark ships, luxury hotel accommodations, small group sizes and a resident tour director who travels with the group.

For A&K’s new 16-day “India & Nepal: The Taj Mahal, Mt. Everest and a Ganges River Cruise,” a voyage through India and Nepal is coupled with a seven-night cruise aboard the 56-passenger Ganges Voyager. The vessel features 28 outside-facing suites, ranging from 261 square feet to 400 square feet, and all with balconies. The vessel sails from Kolkata to Murshidabad and back.

The A&K itinerary starts at $8,595 per person, based on double occupancy, and departures are limited to 18 guests. There are four departures of this trip in December and January.

A&K will be tapping into inventory on the 44-passenger Amazon Discovery for its nine-day “Amazon Adventure: Rainforest & River Cruise.” In addition to a visit to Lima, the trip includes a six-night river cruise through the Peruvian Amazon.

The Amazon Discovery will deploy in June and will have 22 cabins ranging from 237 square feet up to 597 square feet, along with a dining room, viewing lounge and pool.

The A&K Amazon itinerary starts at $6,295 per person, double, and is limited to 18 guests per departure. There are currently three departures, taking place in December of this year and of next.

A&K’s 12-day “Cruising the Mekong: Siam, Saigon & Angkor Wat” will include a seven-night cruise on the 24-passenger Mekong Princess, which will be an exclusive charter for A&K. The Mekong Princess will deploy in September 2015 and will be an all-suite vessel with a spa concept. There will be spa cuisine served onboard and enhanced spa services.

The ship will sail into and out of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and will sail up and down the Mekong River through Vietnam and Cambodia. The complete itinerary starts at $7,995 per person, double.
