AmaWaterways inked a two-year sponsorship of a new public television show, "Places to Love," hosted by travel expert Samantha Brown.
The show debuted earlier this month and the first season will have a 13-episode run on public television, with a second season slated to follow.
"We have long admired Samantha for her warm, engaging personality and we were excited to see the creative vision she is demonstrating in her new series that highlights the importance of culturally immersive travel experiences which is something that matches our own philosophy to river cruising," Kristin Karst, executive vice president and co-owner of AmaWaterways, said in a statement.
"Now is the perfect time for us to align with Samantha, as we look to expand our reach and connect with new types of travelers, with varying interests, from around the world," she added.
"Places to Love" is a half-hour program that highlights the people who are redefining destinations. In each episode, Brown seeks out innovators and disrupters who are creating new travel experiences, whether through food and drink, art and design, culture or adventure.
Brown first started out as a television travel host for the Travel Channel in 1999 on a series called "Great Vacation Homes." Numerous series followed, including "Great Hotels," "Girl Meets Hawaii," "Passport to Europe," "Passport to Latin America," "Passport to China," "Great Weekends," "Samantha Brown's Asia," "The Trip," and "50/50."
AmaWaterways' television deal comes after river cruise lines Scenic, American Cruise Line, and most famously Viking River Cruises have partnered with various PBS shows for increased exposure.
