River cruise line AmaWaterways has waived the single supplement on considerably more of its 2014 departures than it has in the past.

To accommodate solo travelers, the company is waiving the single supplement on select departures of the following 2014 itineraries: Vietnam, Cambodia & the Riches of the Mekong; Paris & Normandy; Provence & Spain; Tulip Time Cruise; The Romantic Danube; The Enchanting Rhine; Vineyards of the Rhine & Mosel; and Christmas Time Cruise.

AmaWaterways said it has made the decision to waive some of its single supplements due to the growing number of solo travelers. “Industry experts predict that if companies make it more affordable for people to travel on their own — by waiving single supplements or offering special deals — the number of solo travelers might increase even more,” the company said in a release.

Previously, AmaWaterways only waived the single supplement on a very limited number of sailings.

AmaWaterways also has single-berth staterooms on six of its European vessels, including two on the AmaCello, two on the AmaLyra, two on the AmaDolce, two on the AmaDante, one on the AmaVerde and one on the AmaBella.
