The Aria, Aqua Expeditions' second river cruise ship on the Peruvian Amazon, set sail Friday on its maiden voyage with 21 passengers aboard.
The 32-passenger luxury ship features 16 cabins with floor-to-ceiling windows, an air-conditioned top deck with observation lounge and the Amazon Grill restaurant.
The Aria also has an exercise room, outdoor Jacuzzi and sun deck.
Like its sister ship, the 24-passenger Aqua, the Aria sets sail from Iquitos, Peru, and navigates the Amazon waterways west of there, taking a slightly different route than the Aqua.
The Aria has 24 crew members, including four nature guides. When the ship plans were announced last year, Aqua Expeditions said it was investing around $4 million in the new vessel.
Like the Aqua, the Aria sails three-, four- and seven-night cruises along the Peruvian Amazon.
