So far, this is what we know about the debut of millennial-focused U by Uniworld's first vessel, The B, which set sail in Paris over the weekend: There appears to be some solid partying happening; they're serving up some seriously photogenic burgers, breakfast croissants, quiche and deconstructed salads; and excursions have included kayaking, a visit to an absinthe museum and getting lost in Versailles.
We know this because -- Instagram.
For the unveiling of its new river cruise line aimed at passengers aged 21 to 45, Uniworld invited a group of agents and social media influencers onboard for a preview cruise up the Seine River in advance of the first official sailings which launch in the spring.
So, we stalked them.
And the good news is that this social media-savvy set has been posting a ton, so it wasn't hard to get a real-time sense of what the new product looks and feels like and what these hosted pioneers are experiencing.
For one, clearly the pajama dance party was a big (Insta) hit. "This is what we get to do as travelers of this world. Dance. In pajamas. On a boat," wrote @ztp_johnston
on an Insta video featuring, well, what looks to be a lot of people in silk pajamas grooving on a dance floor.
The storied pajama dance party was confirmed in multiple other posts including one featuring supermodel and philanthropist Petra Nemcova, who led The B's renaming ceremony and was deemed the vessel's "guardian angel."
"#pajamaparty with a #supermodel. Not a bad way to end this edition of #jeffmillerlaineurope," wrote @jeffmillerla, host of The Travel Channel's Trip Testers.
Other social media influencers onboard included full-time solo traveler @mylifesatravelmovie, who has 132,000 Instagram followers and who "felt like Alice in Wonderland getting lost (literally) in the gardens of Versailles today!"
There's also @piamuehlenbeck, who told her 2 million followers that she was "touring Paris in a glass roof bus with a mimosa and a croissant."
And @sam_kolder shared a romantic shot with his 547,000 followers as he was "Exploring the beautiful buildings of Rouen yesterday as we sail across France aboard the new @ubyuniworld ship. An amazing way to see France."
A pretty good compilation of the posts can be found at #travelforu. And there's a fun one-day time-lapse video story posted by @vjbudah. If you're curious about the product, and/or are looking for some procrastination fodder, it's a good way to go down the social media rabbit hole for a few minutes, or hours even, depending on how much you want to know about the vessel, U by Uniworld, and the ragtag band that was onboard this past week.
