SeaDream Yacht Club will visit the Amazon for the first time, with the SeaDream II operating two 20-day cruises to the region in February 2012.
The 56-cabin SeaDream II will visit the Amazon on roundtrip cruises from Barbados to Iquitos, Peru. The ship is spending late fall 2011 and early 2012 in the Caribbean, as is the company’s 56-cabin SeaDream I.
"The British Virgin Islands, such as Norman Island, Jost van Dyke and Virgin Gorda, are true yachting destinations and continue to be a SeaDream favorite," SeaDream’s president, Bob Lepisto, said in a statement. "However, we are excited to be adding the Amazon to our itinerary."
The small-ship line said that the Amazon itineraries would include calls in Cuxiu Muni, Alter do Chao, and Manaus, Brazil, and that excursions would feature Amazonian tribes, museums, markets and the jungle’s exotic plants and animals.
