River cruise company Tom Harper River Journeys will sail the 180-passenger Birdsong in 2016.

The company has signed a deal for an exclusive long-term full charter of the vessel, which was built in Germany and launched in 2011. The Birdsong was previously only available to Europeans and will now be available to North American customers through Tom Harper, a Boston-based company founded by Bret Gordon in 2013.

The Birdsong features a restaurant, an indoor lounge with an outside terrace, a cafe and a wine bar. There is outdoor seating on the upper sun deck along with chess and shuffleboard games. The ship also has a pool, sauna, massage room, fitness equipment and relaxation area.

Staterooms on the upper and middle decks feature French balconies. Cabins range from 132 square feet to 165 square feet, and all have satellite TV, radio and music channels, air conditioning, hair dryer, mini-bar and personal safe. Several cabins will be set aside for solo travelers.

Shore excursion groups are limited to 24 passengers each. Transfers, gratuities and port charges are included in the price.

Starting March 2016, Birdsong will sail in Holland and Belgium, and along the Rhine, Main, Moselle, and Danube rivers, including during the holiday season. Pricing for the initial 10-day sailing from Amsterdam to Antwerp starts at $2,799 per person.
