Crowne Plaza Panama brings new amenities to prime location

PANAMA CITY--The former Holiday Inn Panama here has been reborn as the Crowne Plaza Panama, with new additional amenities and services for guests.

The upgrade includes more comfortable beds and nicer decor in guest rooms and lobby level. However, original works by local artists, which have always been one of the hotels trademark decorating elements, still hang on the main floor.

The property now offers Crowne Plazas Sleep Advantage program, which includes guaranteed wake-up calls, quiet-zone floors and other sleep-inducing amenities.

The hotel, which is owned by Empresas Bern (the company behind the brand-new InterContinental Playa Bonita Resort & Spa), also has a small outdoor pool and deck, a small gym and an executive floor with complimentary drinks and snacks.

Meals are available on-site at the La Galeria restaurant, and drinks are served at the Memories Sports Bar; for a change of taste, many other restaurants are within walking distance of the property.

The Crowne Plazas location doesnt afford the glamorous ocean views or extensive amenities of its pricier sister property, the InterContinental Miramar, but it is centrally located for many businesses and activities in the bustling El Cangrejo district of Panama City.
