El Salvador's Ministry of Tourism will host its first travel market in San Salvador on Sept. 6, targeting North American buyers with a view to positioning the Central American country as a leading international travel destination, it said in a press announcement.
More than 30 hotels, destination management companies, airlines and specialist operators have confirmed their participation so far, the ministry said. El Salvador is offering North American buyers a two-day post-meeting fam tour, as well.
The U.S. and Canada, El Salvador's top source markets, already are 40% of international arrivals, with the U.S. accounting for 89% of that North American total.
Buyer registration is being handled by El Salvador's local marketing representative, Dana Ullmann, at [email protected]. Space is limited.
