Reynolds Wolf, a meteorologist and correspondent for CNN Worldwide, will join International Expeditions' April 1 Amazon River journey aboard the La Amatista as a guest lecturer. During the nine-night tour, Wolf will lead discussions on the impact of the Amazon rain forest on global weather and climate.
International Expeditions is known for providing high-caliber lecturers, who help deepen the experience of journeys to natural outposts. Wolf will be joined by a team of Peruvian naturalists, who will lead an educational program on wildlife, history and geography, and field interpretation during daily excursions.
The 28-passenger vessel will travel deep into the pristine Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve for explorations on excursion boats to spot wildlife, and clients can hike into the rain forest and fish for piranha. They also will have opportunities to spend time with riberenos in their remote villages, handing out school supplies to children and meeting a local shaman.
Prices for the 10-day Amazon journey start at $3,498 per person, and include accommodations, excursions, guides and transfers.
