Maybe Sandals can get some tips from wine aficionado, Bob Dickinson

Sommeliers at Sandals? TC hears that California's Beringer Vineyards has partnered with Sandals and Beaches Resorts in a deal that will feature its wine labels exclusively at each resort.

Sommelier training is part of the deal. So serious is Sandals and Beaches about this that it has renamed the weekly Manager's Cocktail Party as the Beringer Wine and Cheese Party.

Cheers for the red, white, blush and bubbly!

TC was advised that we will likely hear about some kind of SeaDream expansion early next year. Whether it's a new-build or another reconstruction, some type of growth will likely be announced in the first quarter of 2007. Our source said that there is a "hell of a lot" of internal discussion at SeaDream about how to make such a move -- or if the successful product should be left alone.

Carlson-ownedRegent International Hotels, with properties in the U.S., Europe, the Middle East and Asia, could be hanging its flip-flops in the Caribbean sometime soon, TC hears.

Hey, why not? Everyone else is doing it.

LIQUIDATION SALE! We have all seen those signs in big red letters in the windows of furniture stores and carpet outlets, but TC was shocked to see such a sign in the windows of the stately St. Regis Hotel in Washington recently.

The hotel just closed for a top-to-bottom renovation, but after offering the best TVs and towels to employees, management decided to stage a public garage sale at the property rather than have a moving van discreetly cart things away.

The sale was evidently a success, as shoppers lined up on the sidewalk to get in, and happy people were seen leaving with table lamps and other goodies in their arms. But when news of the liquidation sale spread on the industry grapevine, a rival hotelier was overheard to have scoffed, "What a way to protect your brand."
