American Airlines will expand its presence in Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America with eight new routes later this year.

Expanded service includes new twice-daily service from Los Angeles to Mexico City, beginning Sept. 3 (bookings are being taken now) and two weekend flights from LAX to Mazatlan as of Nov. 7 (bookings start July 26).

In the Caribbean, new Saturday flights from Charlotte to Curacao and from Charlotte to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, begin Dec. 19 . Booking availability opens July 20 for both flights. A Saturday flight from Dallas to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, takes off on Dec. 19, and reservations are being taken now.

American will offer twice-weekly flights from Los Angeles to Montego Bay, Jamaica, effective Dec. 18 as well as a Saturday flight from Chicago to Punta Cana, starting Dec. 19. Reservations are being taken now.

The carrier also is introducing five flights a week between Dallas and Quito, Ecuadaor, on Dec. 18. Booking availability opens on July 26.
