Alaska Airlines now offers a flat $8 WiFi fee per flight on its mainline aircraft that have satellite-enabled connectivity onboard, which includes about 80% of its fleet.

The service offers connection speeds up to 20 times faster than the previous WiFi system, according to the airline.

The WiFi is available on long- and short-haul flights, enabling passengers to stream content on their personal devices, and is available from the moment passengers board.
