WASHINGTON -- American and American Eagle, its regional affiliate, expanded service from Chicago [O'Hare] Saturday.

American said the additions are part of the implementation of the decision it made this summer to expand operations at its O'Hare and Dallas/Fort Worth hubs while it reduces the size of its St. Louis hub.

At O'Hare, American is adding 25 daily flights, including some in seasonal markets, to bring its daily total to 309 departures.

American Eagle is adding 23 daily departures, including flights to seven new or previously served cities, to increase its daily total to 223, all on regional jets with leather -- but no middle -- seats.

The new cities are Lincoln, Neb., Little Rock, Ark., Moline, Ill., Sioux Falls, S.D., Springfield, Mo., and Wichita, Kan.
