American Airlines will begin operating 20 new daily flights from Los Angeles International Airport on June 2.

The new service will include five daily flights to Seattle, three flights per day to Portland, twice-daily flights to Minneapolis/Saint Paul and daily service to New Orleans; Kansas City, Mo.; Omaha, Neb.; and Hartford, Conn.

“American serves more customers than any other airline at LAX. Our partnerships with the community underscore our commitment to this city, which is a vital part of our global network,” Andrew Nocella, American’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “We’re adding new flights and additional team members and investing in the community because it’s home to more than 5,000 American Airlines employees and millions of customers.”

The new routes also include daily seasonal service to Anchorage and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, as well as weekend seasonal service to Durango, Colo.; Montrose, Colo; and Vail.

The additions will bring American’s daily flight count out of LAX to more than 220, the carrier said.
