Laudamotion, the successor to Austrian leisure carrier Niki, expects to launch service on Friday.

A spokesperson provided no details on the routes Laudamotion will fly.

Formula 1 driving champion Niki Lauda won the bidding battle for the assets of Niki in January.

Lauda, who founded the airline, beat out International Airlines Group, parent of British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Vueling and Level.

Niki, a former subsidiary of defunct German carrier Air Berlin, was shuttered on Dec. 14. Lauda founded Niki in 2003 before selling it to Air Berlin in 2011.

According to Air Transport World, the German leisure carrier Condor has said it will market Laudamotion flights from Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Basel to the Spanish destinations Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza and Malaga.
