British Airways’ new premium transatlantic airline, OpenSkies, will reconfigure its jet cabins, adding more premium-class seats and eliminating the economy cabin.
By Oct. 1, the airline's number of Prem+ seats will increase from 28 to 40 on flights from Paris-Orly and Amsterdam to New York. The Prem+ class features leather seats with a 140 degree recline and 52-inch seat pitch.
With the expansion, OpenSkies will carry a maximum of 64 passengers (down from 82) aboard each of its two Boeing 757s. The reconfigured aircraft will have 40 seats in Prem+ and 24 seats in business class. OpenSkies' business-class cabin features 180-degree lie-flat beds and 73 inches of legroom.
