Trinidad-based Caribbean Airlines will reduce its flights from Montego Bay to Philadelphia to four roundtrips a week, down from daily service.
Plus, Caribbean Airlines will cut its Kingston-Fort Lauderdale flights to two daily, down from three, at the end of March.
The carrier also plans to outsource its customer-service operations in Montego Bay and Kingston in late April, which will result in layoffs.
The carrier will provide and assist in obtaining alternate employment and remuneration for employees affected by the layoffs, according to a statement from Robert Corbie, acting CEO.
Corbie said that normal business operations, flight schedules and reservations will continue during the reorganization of its customer-service operation.
Caribbean Airlines took over operation of Air Jamaica in 2010 and operates both the Air Jamaica and Caribbean Airlines brands.
