Etihad will start Abu Dhabi-Charlotte service next year

Etihad Airways will launch nonstop service between Abu Dhabi and Charlotte, N.C., in May 2026.

The route will operate four times weekly with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft configured with business and economy cabins. Charlotte will become Etihad's sixth U.S. gateway, joining New York, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta and Washington, D.C. Atlanta service starts July 2.

In addition, the carrier announced an agreement to purchase 28 Boeing widebody planes, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2028. The deal includes a mix of Boeing 787 and 777X aircraft, powered by GE engines.
