Fiji Airways will begin flying to Dallas on Dec. 10.

The carrier will connect Fiji's primary airport in Nadi with Dallas-Fort Worth Airport three times per week. Flights will be operated with a two-cabin Airbus A350-900 equipped with 33 lie-flat seats in business class and 301 economy seats. All seats in business have aisle access.

Dallas will be Fiji Airways' fourth U.S. destination, joining Los Angeles, San Francisco and Honolulu. The airline is the only one that offers nonstop flights between the U.S. and Fiji.

The route launch will come as Fiji Airways prepares to become a full member of the Oneworld alliance by the middle of next year, stepping up from its current status as an associate member. American Airlines, with a large hub in Dallas, is the largest Oneworld airline.

Fiji and American have also announced plans to increase reward-redemption opportunities for AAdvantage members flying on Fiji.

Tickets for the new flight are on sale, with an introductory roundtrip fare starting at $699, Fiji Airways said.
