Hawaiian Airlines has announced the addition of 18 nonstop flights between Honolulu and Brisbane, Australia, scheduled for spring 2013.

The additional flights will augment the existing three-times-weekly Honolulu-Brisbane nonstop the carrier plans to debut Nov. 27.

Hawaiian plans to operate 264-seat Boeing 767-300 aircraft on the additional spring Honolulu-Brisbane flights, scheduling 10 in March, four in April and four in May.

According to Hawaiian officials, the additional flights will depart from Hawaii in the afternoon, “allowing travelers from Hawaiian’s North America gateways in Seattle, San Francisco, Sacramento, Las Vegas and Phoenix to begin their trip in the morning and make a seamless one-stop connection to Brisbane via Honolulu.”

Hawaiian will be the only U.S. carrier flying to Brisbane, the capital of Queensland on the eastern coast of Australia and a gateway to the Great Barrier Reef.
