Icelandair has relaunched the airline with new seats, new interiors and a new third cabin.
The new cabin, Economy Plus, offers seats that are more comfortable seats and have more legroom than seats in coach. Economy Plus customers get complimentary beer, wine and meals and have access to business-class check-in and lounges.
All seats on Icelandair’s revamped aircraft now have personal in-flight entertainment systems. Icelandair described the new interior as “roomier” and “sleeker.” Planes now bear the names of volcanoes throughout Iceland.
Icelandair said new crew uniforms “reflect Icelandic nature, history and the Icelandic national costume in the fabric and design.”
"Our main goal is to make our passengers become a part of Icelandair and our Icelandic heritage," said Thorsteinn Egilsson, Icelandair’s general manager for the Americas.
On Nov. 1, Icelandair will relaunch its website; the airline said it will be more user-friendly. It plans to follow the website relaunch with the implementation of online check-in.
Icelandair flies year-round from Reykjavik to Boston, Orlando Sanford and New York. It flies seasonally to Minneapolis/St. Paul, Halifax and Toronto.
