JetBlue will launch nonstop Saturday service from Boston to St. Maarten on Feb. 14, marking the island’s first year-round service from Beantown.
The new nonstop flight complements Jet Blue’s existing daily service (twice a day on Saturdays) from New York Kennedy to St. Maarten.
"In this time of economic unrest and financial crisis, St. Maarten is committed to doing everything we can to ensure that any loss of airline seats will be minimal, thus reducing the impact to our local economy," said Roy Marlin, commissioner of tourism. "We are pleased that JetBlue is adding service from a primary source market, despite the dire predictions from the airline industry."
St. Maarten’s expanded marketing strategy includes positioning sales representatives in each U.S. gateway city to promote the destination.
