JetBlue says Sandy cost the airline $45 million

JetBlue Airways posted a $1 million fourth-quarter net profit, down from $23 million for the 2011 December quarter.

The carrier estimated a $45 million revenue hit from Hurricane Sandy, but still posted record fourth-quarter revenue of $1.2 billion, up 4% year over year.

JetBlue's average one-way fare during the quarter declined marginally from the prior year to $155.17.

Fourth-quarter passenger unit revenue declined 0.2%, while traffic increased 4.3%.
