JetBlue will add a third Caribbean destination from Newark during this year’s holiday season.

The flight, from Newark to Barbados, will begin on Nov. 17 and continue on Saturdays through Jan. 7. JetBlue already flies to Barbados from New York, Boston and Fort Lauderdale.

The announcement comes as airlines have been adding service out of Newark in response to an April decision by the FAA to loosen arrival and departures limitations at Newark beginning Oct. 30. Last week domestic ultra-low-cost carrier Allegiant as well as transatlantic ultra-low-cost carrier Wow both said they would begin Newark service in November.

JetBlue currently flies out of Newark to Puerto Rico and Santiago, Dominican Republic in the Caribbean as well as to Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, West Palm Beach and Fort Myers.
