JetBlue Airways revealed plans to serve Port of Spain, Trinidad, from Fort Lauderdale and New York, pending government approval.

A daily flight from New York’s Kennedy airport is scheduled to start on Feb. 24. Once-daily Fort Lauderdale service is due to start on May 1.

JetBlue will compete with Caribbean Airlines in both markets.

Destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean make up almost one-third of its route network, JetBlue said.
