Add Kansas City to the growing map of mid-sized U.S. cities that will soon have nonstop service to Iceland.

Icelandair will begin seasonal summer service between Kansas City and Reykjavik on May 25. The thrice-weekly service will be the first to Europe from the western Missouri city.

Kansas City will join Cleveland and Dallas/Fort Worth as new Icelandair destinations in 2018. The airline will fly to 16 U.S. airports this year.

Meanwhile, Iceland-based Wow Air will add six U.S. destinations this year, among them Cleveland, Dallas/Fort Worth, St. Louis and Cincinnati.

Kansas City travelers on Icelandair will be able to connect from Reykjavik to 25 destinations in the U.K. and continental Europe.
