Most Florida airports remain closed Monday

Major airports across Florida will mostly remain closed Monday as officials inspect runways and terminals to make sure they are safe in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.

Miami, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and Tampa airports all plan to reopen Tuesday pending safety inspections.

Orlando airport didn’t give a timeline for reopening but said it had a team on standby to inspect the facility.

Fort Myers’ airport might not reopen until the middle of the week, the Naples Daily News reported.

Palm Beach's airport will reopen Monday at noon. The first flight is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
