Norwegian Air Shuttle will extend its seasonal U.S.-Caribbean network to Fort Lauderdale next winter.

Beginning Dec. 17, the European ultra-low-cost carrier will fly twice weekly from South Florida’s second largest airport to Guadeloupe. The route, to be offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays, will be the sixth for Norwegian out of Fort Lauderdale, joining the European destinations Copenhagen, London, Oslo and Stockholm. Norwegian launches a weekly Fort Lauderdale-Paris service in August.

The carrier began serving Guadeloupe last year from Baltimore, Boston and New York. Seasonal service resumes from those destinations on Nov. 10. On Dec. 17, Norwegian will up its JFK-Guadeloupe frequency from three days per week to four days per week.

Fares on the Fort Lauderdale-Guadeloupe route begin at $79 one-way.
