Southwest Airlines will install Starlink high-speed WiFi on some aircraft.

The airline expects its first Starlink-equipped aircraft to enter service this summer and to have Starlink on more than 300 planes by the end of the year. Other planes will continue to have WiFi from Southwest's other two vendors, Viasat and Anuvu.

Southwest said the Starlink service will enable customers "to stream, share, and scroll in the sky at lightning-fast speeds."

Southwest is the third U.S. airline to partner with Starlink, following Hawaiian and United.

The airline began offering free WiFi to Rapid Rewards loyalty program members in October.

CORRECTION: Southwest is equipping some of its aircraft with Starlink's WiFi. A previous version of this report mistakenly said Southwest would convert all planes.
