Spirit Airlines will soon beef up its schedule in New Orleans.

Beginning May 25, the ultra-low-cost carrier will operate daily flights from the Crescent City to Baltimore, Cleveland and Orlando.

The routes will complement existing Spirit flights from New Orleans to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Detroit and Atlanta.

Spirit will be the lone carrier to serve New Orleans-Cleveland, according to the website Flight Connections. It will compete against Southwest on the Baltimore route and against Southwest and Frontier on the Orlando route. (Allegiant also flies to New Orleans from its Florida base at the smaller Orlando Sanford Airport.)

The three New Orleans routes were among 10 new flights Spirit unveiled Tuesday. The carrier will add to its Newark network with daily flights to Houston Bush beginning April 27. Spirit will compete with United on that route.

Spirit also announced six summer seasonal routes: Houston-Seattle, Baltimore-Oakland, Baltimore-San Diego, Baltimore-Seattle, Detroit-Oakland and Detroit-Seattle.

Those flights will commence May 25.
