United has become the first airline to sign on to the Routehappy Hub platform.

The software enables airlines to display descriptive and visual content by aircraft, cabin, flight, airport, fare, segment and other criteria.

“United is committed to being the airline of choice and one of the ways we will do this is by making our customers’ travel experience easier and more informative,” said Scott Wilson, United’s vice president of e-commerce and merchandising. “This helps our customers better understand what their experience with United will include.” 

United is in the process of developing the merchandising content it will display for its flights, a Routehappy spokeswoman said. Once the content is ready, the carrier will be able to integrate it into ticket search results on its own website, as well as results on outside channels, including Sabre, Expedia, Google and Kayak.
