TULSA, Okla. -- Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, as part of an ongoing program to bring more of its locations in house, has acquired the Dollar Rent A Car franchises in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, Okla., and Nashville.

Dollar Thrifty purchased the Tulsa and Oklahoma City operations from OK Rental & Leasing, while the Nashville franchise at the citys airport was acquired from Midwest Rental & Leasing. The terms of the transactions, which add 615 cars to Dollar Thriftys corporate fleet, were not disclosed.

These acquisitions are of particular importance to our acquisition program which we initiated in December 2002, said Jay Foley, senior executive vice president, corporate operations, in a statement. We now operate the Dollar brand corporately throughout our home state of Oklahoma, which creates operational synergy opportunities as well as additional customer choices such as one-way rentals and choices on drop locations.

Dollar and Thrifty have approximately 800 corporate and franchised locations in the U.S. and Canada with operations at most major airports.
