The Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, parent
of the Dollar and Thrifty car rental firms, has tapped PRC, a customer relations firm, to handle its
call center support services beginning in April.
Under the five-year
outsourcing agreement, PRC will manage Dollar Thrifty's
reservations service-related calls assisting customers needing to
reconfirm, change or cancel existing reservations through PRC's
contact centers worldwide.
Dollar Thrifty said
will continue to operate its customer call center in Tahlequah,
Okla., where it will handle all reservations sales calls for
destinations in the U.S. and Canada.
"While we expect to
reduce overall call center-related costs by approximately $20
million over the term of this agreement, we didn't make this
decision simply to reduce costs," said Bob DuPont, Dollar Thrifty's
vice president, customer contact center services.
